Do Thyroid Medicines Cause Cancer?

ive been on a thyroid pill for a long time well here about 3 yrs ago I quit taking it because 2 reasons 1/ I kept forgetting to take it and two cause I kept hearing from other people that it can cause cancer.now Im wondering if that s why Im having problems with my toenails and fingernails

Hello there. I have read through your question and would like to tell you that thyroid medicine d not cause cancer.In fact if your thyroid is dysfunctional then is very important to take thyroid medicine to maintain normal hormonal level in the body. Thyroid medication has to be taken empty stomach first thing in the morning. So it is better that you get your thyroid profile repeated and start taking your thyroid medicines after consulting with your physician. I hope that answers your question.
