Do Tingling Head, Dry Mouth, Numb Gums And Confusion Suggest Side Effects Of Prednisone?

I have been seen for lower back pain, sciatica. The doctor gave me prednisone and have been taking it as directed. Tomorrow starts my taper off. I have noticed 9 side effects out of the list posted. Is this normal or could be considered allergic reaction. Today my head was tingling, dry mouth, gums felt numb, trouble speaking and thinking were the worst. In the past I did have blurry vision. Thank you. Kim

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think there is a viral infection. Do an eye swab for multiplex PCR test and throat swab. It can find out the exact cause and in that case, steroid might need to stop. Immunity should be strengthened so take antioxidants [gooseberry, aloe vera and basil] and multi-vitamins. Eat more fruits and juices. Learn breathing exercises. Get an MRI done as these are not side effects of Prednisone.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
