Does 2 Mg Of Lorazepam A Day Causes Addiction?

I hv bn taking clonnazapam for seven yrs n I went to a detox program for oxyicodone for facial pain. But the detox doc took away my clonnazapam saying that it could make my head spin. I could not sleep dor days. Yesterday, my family doc gave 2 mg on day dosage of lorazepam to replace clonnazapam I heard that lorazepam is highly addictive. Is that right based on my 2mg a day dosage?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

You are right on Lorazepam. The dose 2 mg/day is OK to help you sleep better. But you should not use it for longer than 2 weeks, as it may cause addiction.

You have to talk with a psychiatrist about that issue.

Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
