Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a breast cancer survivor and am taking Femara, because my cancer was estrogen positive. I recently had a bone density test and have bone loss. My primary care doctor wants me to take Actonel. i am concerned about combining the two drugs. Are there any types of problems or negative interactions? I would be in contact with my primary doctor, but he is on vacation. Thanks for your help.
Femara (letrozole) does not have any major interactions with Actonel (risedronate). I think there is no need to be concerned about any interaction between these two drugs. I would have recommended my patient to go ahead with Actonel for bone loss. Hope the above information helps you in taking an informed decision. Thank you very much.
