Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been prescribed adderal in the past and once my husband and I tried for a baby I stopped and was off of it for about 3 years. I recently have been back on it for about 3 months... I have always had irregular menstral cycles but that have always been really heavy and I ve always had terrible pms. Yesterday night I used the restroom and noticed I started my period, after been almost 3 weeks late (I took multiple pregnancy tests, I m not pregnant). But the next morning my period was super light and by the evening it was gone! Can adderal be the cause and is this a negative thing?
Irregular menstrual periods is not a known side effect of Adderal. You will need tests and examinations to identify the cause of your irregular bleeding, especially because you are trying to conceive.
You will need a transvaginal ultrasound and a pap smear and if the doctor sees redness or inflammation during the gynecological exam he may ask for tests to rule out chlamydia and gonorrhea infection as well.
