Does Advantam Cream Help In Treating The Scar Caused Due To Mole Removal?

Hi Dr Prasad My 15 year old daughter had a mole removed from the back of her neck 3 weeks ago, our doctor has prescribed Advantan cream for her to use on it so it does not turn into an ugly scar. Will this cream work for this, it appears to be more used to treat eczema? Leia

By now , i guess the site or removal has healed well without any infection.
have you been applying Advantan cream and for how long?
Advantan is a steroid preparation used for various conditions including eczema.
But for the scar healing, I would recommend something like Contractubex gel that will help the scar shrink slowly and be less obvious. use as advised for at least a month and observe. This would be a better option for you as it is specifically for scars. esp since the scar is in a visible place.
Advantan would not be recommended for long term use.
