Does Albuterol Cause Muscle Weakness And Fatigue?

I have been doing an Albuterol nebulizer treatment HS so that I am able to use my CPAP without difficulty at & having muscle weakness in my legs and fatigue and some confusion. Could this be due to starting the nebulizer treatments? Previously I used Ventolin inhaller 2 puffs HS but would wake up shortly after going to sleep coughing and choking and unable to use CPAP. Just feel weak and lousy. My husband said just get off there and call the dR in a little while as shee will see you this morning.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The muscle weakness and fatigue are documented side effects of Albuterol molecule. I recommend to discuss about the same with your treating physician for dose alteration or molecule change.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
