Does Amoxicillin Cause Bloody Mucus Discharge While Clearing The Nose?
Been diagnosed with a chest infection today prescribed amoxicillin for 7 days. After taking I have some blood in my nasal mucus. Had this side affect before just checking it s nothing to worry about? Not nose bleeds or anything just when I blow my nose.
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your minute blood in nasal discharge.
Yes, it has been found in some cases Amoxicillin can cause minute nasal mucosal erosion and lead some sort of bleeding too. But it is not two dangerous, in case you have more bleeding you may need to consult your general physician to get your medication replaced by other one like levofloxicin.
Hope my answer will help you and write us back if you have any further questions to be answered.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
