Does Amoxicillin Cause Body Rashes In A Child?

5 year old taking amoxicillin has all over body rash. Just vomited and said her ear hurts. Saw the Dr. for the rash today prior to vomiting and ear complaint. Does this sound like medication reaction? Or allergy? Or something else? Many other family members are allergic to cillin drugs.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is Possible that it may be allergic reaction to Amoxicillin or due to antibiotic induced gastritis or ear infection with vomiting. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Please consult your pediatrician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
