Does Atenolol Cause Sleep Disturbance?

two years and three months ago I had a heart attack. I had a stent fitted and was was given statins, asprin, amias and atenolol 25mg to take daily. !4 months ago I started having severe sleep disturbances and vivid nightmares causing me to wake several times a night, every night, with a heavily beating heart. I think the atenolol is causing these problems, can I stop taking it. I am 59 years old, was 57 when I had the attack. I exercise daily and have done since I was 20 years old.
