Does Augmentin Reduce The Efficacy Of A Nexplanon Implant?

I have the nexplanon implant and was prescribed augmentin. I need to know if I should use condoms while on this antibiotic, or if it is still effective while on this antibiotic. My doctor wasn t 100% about the implant, and the pharmacist said I d be okay since it isn t an oral contraceptive. Although I d like another opinion. If I need to use a condom, how long should we wait to stop using a condom after I stop taking the antibiotic? Thank you!

Hello,

Augmentin is having amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

It is very safe and having the least side effects. It is also showing minimal drug interactions.

So no need to take additional contraceptive measures like condom while taking Augmentin.

It won't affect Nexplanon drug interactions levels and its contraceptive property. So don't worry about pregnancy.
