Does Aygestin Help In Conceiving?

I am on cd27, I stopped the bc pill 8 months ago and even though in the past I ve gotten pregnant fairly easily it s been 8 months of trying :(. Whereas I used to be pretty regular in terms of cycle days, these last 8 months have been weird, 25-27-29-one was 30 (I got hopeful) and I would spot like on cd25 and then full period would come on cd27. So after 6 months and no pregnant yet my doc checked my progesterone levels last cycle on cd20 and found them to be 11.92. He said it was grt and that I was ovulating but that because I still got period at end of the month we should try aygestin this current cycle and to start it on cd18. Depending on when u start it and when u take it during the day it could act as a bcp. But bec I started it on cd 18 and don t take it the same time everyday it s supposed to thin the uterin lining or something to make the egg embed easier? Anyway not sure if I understood correctly or not but I m curious if anyone has had this and found to be pregnant. I am not doing the testing this month again like I always do unless I am a good few days past the last possible day to expect it, but whereas the only symptom I have is crazy bloatedness, and breast pain here and there, the only new thing is the lack of spotting and I m on cd27 now and these past 8 months I ve always spotted by now... can it be possible to have conceived this cycle? Does this pill help with that?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Progesterone hormone is recreated from the cover of the ruptured follicle (corpus lutetium) & helps uterine lining thicker so that fertilized ovum can be easily implanted in it.

Hereafter, progesterone is created to help the maintenance &growth of pregnancy.

Suggestion is a progesterone preparation &helps pregnancy as described above.

It is given to aid pregnancy when ovulation is normal ...&if progesterone may be lesser, pregnancy may not be saved.

In my view, progesterone supplement should be started approximately pn ovulation day.

It must be taken very regularly at a fixed time of day. Unprotected sex should be done 2 days before, on the day &two days after the ovulation (ovulation can be known by LHsurge test).

Please discuss this with your treating gynecologist, get your ideas cleared&follow the instructions given by the doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
