Does BP Being 145/55 Suggest Heart Related Issues In Future?

I am a 21 (almost 22) year old male standing 6 2 tall. I lift heavy weights about 5 days a week, and do little cardio during the winter in order to bulk up (I run/bicycle 3 days a week in spring and summer to cut weight). Right now, my blood pressure is reading 145/55. Do you think I am at risk for hypertension or any other heart-related issues?

Hello. Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Usually target blood pressure should be less than 140 - 90 mmhg at any age according to newer trials. Upto 140-90 mmhg we usually don't start medicines.

At this blood pressure which still is looking under control usually no Longterm heart issues will be there. Still try to maintain resting blood pressure less than 130-80mmhg.

Continue cardio and exercise, eat fresh fruits, less salt in diet will be helpful.

You can go for 24 hrs blood pressure monitoring which will give clear idea regarding fluctuations of blood pressure.

Thank you..
Have a nice day.
