Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on Bactrim for bronchitis have taken it for 8 days, now I have a very sore hand, fast heart rate 128 and my blood pressure is all over the place, I take Micardis, Norvasc HCtZ and Paxell(spelling) on a daily basis I am worried I am having a reaction to the antibiotic
If I am not wrong tablet paella is actually tablet Paxil which contains medicine paroxetine. Paroxetine causes cardiac problems like QT prolongation in ECG.
Another drug you have recently added is Bactrim which also can cause same problem. You are suffering from cardiac problem because of adverse effects of above 2 medicines.
My advice is to consult treating physician earliest to stop (if possible) or change the medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
