Does Botox Treatment Help To Diagnose Chronic Inflammatory Polyneuropathy ?

I am a 59 year old male in very good shape. I have had electrical shocks in my left calf only for the past year and a half. I have been to two neurologists and the second one diagnosed me with CIDP. I am on Gabapentin 3x a day at 300mg. The shocks are still occurring. My neurologist suggested I might want to get a Botox treatment in this left calf. Will that help and are there any side effects from this treatment

Hello.
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic forum.
Botox treatment is likely to help as it decreases the excessive muscle contracture and causes the muscles to relax. You can try it once. The treatment has short lasting effects and repeated injections are needed for prolonged effect.
