Does Chlorthalidone Cause Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

I have been taking 40mg lisinopril & 10mg amyloidipine for my blood pressure for years - I also take 20mg atorvastatin for chloresterole - my doctor just prescribed (took yesterday & today) 25mg chlorthalidone in addition to the meds I ve been taking - my blood pressure has gone up to 148 over 99 today - can new med be causing this

Chlorthalidone belongs to class of drugs called diauertis. These are used to lower blood pressure. So it does not rise blood pressure rather it would drop it more.
