Does Clomotril Increase The Urge For Bowel Movements?

my son who is 38 yrs old and quadriplegic person,using clonotril0.5mg for the past 1 yr.for his anxiety,of late he gets up at 4.30 a.m and rushes to toilet.it become routine, how long we have to use it?is the urgency to toilet has any relation to medication?

I can understand your concerns.
Clonotril is used for short periods usually for not more than 4 weeks. Otherwise it carries the risk of dependence. If his anxiety is controlled, I would suggest you to gradually reduce the dose and stop clonotril.
Instead he can practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation. This will help a lot to control anxiety, if any.

I dont think this urgency to go to toilet is related to this drug. You should consult your physician for this.
