Does Clonazepam Cause Lethargy And Speech Impairment?
my client was prescribed clonazepam a few days ago and is currently taking several other medications after having breast cancer surgery in march of this year. She is also taking norco for pain. in the last 2 days since she started taking the clonazepam she has been very very lethargic, has no energy and her speech is greatly impaired. we are very worried.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug. The benzodiazepines are commonly used hypnotic and sedative drugs. In high doses they are known to cause lethargy, speech impairment, tiredness etc symptoms. Norco consists of hydrocodone and paracetamol. Hydrocodone is an opioid drug. The drug is also associated with sedation and lethargy. This drug is also potentiating the lethargy and speech problems caused by clonazepam. If the speech problems are distressing the please consult her doctor again and ask for dose adjustments.
