Does Depo Birth Control Shot Cause Irregular Bleeding?

i recently had a baby about 5 months ago and im taking the depo birth control shot now i know it can cause irregular bleeding but ive only stop bleeding for about a month and now i started bleeding again and have EXTREME abdominal pain and we did pap examines and still cant figure anything out do you have any suggestions?
