General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. After taking a depot shot it takes the body three to four months time for the body to adapt to the high levels of hormones. It also takes time for the contraception to be. effective. For the initial few months there is irregular bleeding as the body adapts to the high levels of hormones. The bleeding you are describing may be due to the depot shot. But to confirm conclusively whether you are pregnant or not you will have to take a Urine pregnancy test. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
