Does Doxycycline Help In Treating UTI?

Hi I am in Sumatra and in the middle of know where..I m pretty sure I have a uti and is now causing pain in my lower back . I have doxycycline 100mg tablets that I had as a precaution for malaria. Would I be able to take this to cure my problem? I ve been to a doctor but he doesn t speak English and am very far away from a hospital. Thank you!
