Does Enterogermina Help In Treating Hematochezia?

Hi there, my son had one of his stools tested recently and it came back positive for occult blood. My pediatrician advised using a probiotic and changing his formula to a HA one. I bought Enterogermina. Is this suitable? My son is nearly 14 weeks (this Sunday). Many thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes. Enterogermina is a good probiotic to stabilize intestinal flora. I do not like the presence of blood in the stool. Apart changing formula milk I suggest to discuss with gastroenterologist pediatrician to check on colitis or other rare bowel pathologies in your infant.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
