I was given Famotidine 20 mg 2/day while in the hospital, was not told really why,,,did question some drugs, and the answer, we give these to all patients......ckecking on the web, I see to reason why I was given this drug. The basic question is does this drug make you food that you put in you month taste bad...bob p.s. my giving you my email address does not allow you to sell it to others of put me on any marketing plans
Well, bad taste in mouth is a common side effect of a number of medicines. Famotidine can be a culprit causing a bad taste in the mouth. You can consult your physician and get evaluated. If needed the dose of the medicine can reduce or the drug can change. For now, to mask the bad taste, you should clean your tongue daily using a tongue scraper. -Gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. -Chew flavored sugar-free chewing gum. -Drink plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
