Does Flexeril Cause Insomnia?

I am trying to determine whether the reason I was up all last night, unable to sleep, could be a side effect of Flexeril It was the first full dose I had taken. The previous night I had taken only 1/2 pill without a problem sleeping. But because I didn t feel relaxed, I thought I should take the prescribed dose last night.

Hi,

In general Flexeril has the exact opposite effect to what you mention, it causes drowsiness as a side effect, it is the most common complain from the patients. So it is unlikely for it to have been the cause you couldn't sleep.

It can't be completely excluded, at times patients may have individual reactions to drugs, but it would be unlikely, other causes would have to be considered first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
