Does Gabapentin Cause Stiffness And Pain In The Muscles?
My mother has been taking gabapentin for several years. She is going to a new doctor and he took her off of it about 3 months. I noticed that she is having signs of being stiff and sore muscles. Could that be as a result of not taking the gabapentin? Could the gabapentin help with muscle soreness?

Yes you are right, Gabapentin can be used for muscle stiffness and help it relieved. So, yes it may be the withdrawal from the drug, however other causes should be ruled out especially if she is suffering from any fever or any weakness increased with this. She can better try over the counter Paracetamol and some massage like with olive oil, this may help and may avoid the use of restarting the drug again.
