Does Gemzar Chemotherapy Cause Foul Smelling Urine?

I recently was switched to Gemzar chemotherapy. My urine has a horrendously awful smell to it. Is this a possible side effect of this drug? I am so worried others will smell it on me. I am wearing a pad constantly - changing it often, but it seems that s all I can smell. Does it mean that something might be wrong - or is this a common side effect? Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gemzar may cause blood or protein in the urine which may cause a change in appearance , it is also possible that it can cause the odor as well though this is not as common.

There may not be anything that can be done about this side effect unfortunately but you can discuss it with your doctor.

I hope this helps
