Does Glimepiride Increases The Weight In A Diabetic?

I have been on metformin for the past 3 years with little success of getting my blood sugars down where they should, now I have been prescribed glimiperide and i am very concerned about gaining weight , as i am always trying to loose. I weight 180 lbs.

Hello,
Sulfonylureas can result in little increase of weight but if you take proper dietary control and do regular aerobic exercises,then weight can be kept in check.
Watch closely your calorie intake.A good blood sugar control also results in person gaining some weight.
At the moment you must think more about controlling your blood sugar levels.
