Does Glucosamine-Chondroitin Raise Blood Pressure?

I have taken glucosamine-chondroitin for about 10 years and it has seemed to help/eliminate knee pain after exercise. I have also developed high blood pressure. Someone told me that g-c can raise bp, and that a sulfate form is better. My BMI is normal, I minimize salt, and exercise moderately; am increasing exercise at this time. Should I switch to a sulfate form, or discontinue altogether? I want to protect my knee joints as much as possible. (I don't run anymore, just walking.)

HI,
Glucosamin chondroitin is a natural supplement derived from shell fish covering & shark/bovine cartilage. Thus it is supposed to aid destroyed joint due to
osteoarthritis. It is not known to have any side effect, not even induce blood pressure except for allergy noted in early days of treatment..
You are taking it for last 10 years, you also are benefited ,so if you can afford you should continue it & protect your knees.
Blood pressure can be separate entity. Please get yourself checked by a physician for any cardiac, renal, hormonal ,diabetic cause of high blood pressure, & start specific treatment.
The other parameters of your health & your life style seems to be OK for Blood pressure management. You can add yoga exercises, meditation, pranayama, yognidra for better control.
Thanks.
