Hello,

Gycomet and Glycomet SR are medicines that are used to treat type 2 diabetes millitus (insulin dependent). While Glycomet is a short acting medicine, it helps to control blood sugar levels by reducing hepatic glucose production & is released quickly after ingestion. While Glycomet SR, is a sustained release medication and works for more than 12 hours. It helps maintain stable blood sugar level.

Since you are taking Glycomet SR, you can continue taking it. Have healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle. Exercise regularly and walk.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
