Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello DR: I recently had a physical with blood work. All looks OK except for a few. My ALT was 86, my AST was 34, my total bili was .5mg. Though my cholesterol was 238, terig was 149 Hdl was 48 non hdl was 190 and ldl was 160. I am very heavy at 245 # and 5 ft. 6 inches tall . I am a 60 YO female. Never had liver function blood test elevations before. I have lost about 20 pounds and have restricted my diet quite a bit in the fats area. BUN was 19 creatinine was .78 Glucose fasting is 97. I used to use alcohol weekly, now it has been 2 months since i had any. Is there need for real concern here. I also recently had a hpv tumor removed from my left vocal cord (4 months ago) and am concerned as to what strain I have, they did not test for strain. Is there any effect of hpv on the liver? Had genital warts one time as a young woman, about 19 yo. Please do not list my email address when you answer. Thanks!!
There are no documents to support that Human papilloma virus affects the liver in any shape. Though chronic consumption of alcohol in your case is main concern to make elevation of liver function tests in form of ALT. Would like to address your any further proceeding doubts about current session or other medical query at any point of time.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
