Does HPV Cause Cervical Cancer?

5 months ago i had severe dyskaryosis cells successfully removed. I now have lump in groin and being sent for cancer tests as ultrasound shows its not a hernia. my confusion lies here.
1) does HPV cause cervical cancer?
2) I had supposed genital warts removed 4 years ago, but I have been in faithful same sex lesbian relationship for 15 years, of which there was no sexual contact for at least 3 years before they appeared? How could I have them?
3) these supposed warts appeared when i had squeezed what i thought was an ingrowing hair folicle.
4) 3 years later, still no sexual contact, another ingrowing hair spot squeezed and a familiar sight occurs..the supposed wart?
I believe my partner has been faithful as have I, I don't understand how i could have HPV.
Last 2.
I have just recently recovered completely from over active thyroid with drug treatment, could this have played a part?
How quickly can severe dyskaryosis return
thanks for answering this barrage of questions
