Does HPV Vaccine Cause Fever?

My 11 year old daughter received the HPV vaccine yesterday 3rd dose and now her temperature is 101.8, and she has been in bed all day saying she is not feeling well, I have given her motrin. Should I be worried? The first 2 doses she never had fever.

Hi,

Yes, it can cause fever. Fever is an important and common side of HPV vaccine which is usually mild in nature and goes away quickly. There is nothing to worry you may give her paracetamol, plenty of oral fluids and cold sponging if needed.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
