Does Hydrocodone Interact With Adderall?

I have a back issue that requires me to take hydrocodone. About mid day i am so sleepy that i cant get thru the workday. Im in pain, butbneed to work although i cant stay awake. I was wondering about trying some adderall to counter act the pain meds. A friend says he had the same problem and the adderal helps him focus on his work.

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, the sedative effects are due to Hydrocodone as you mentioned but long term Adderall to counter those side effects isn't recommended as it can have it's individual side effects of hyperexcitability or insomnia and many other psychological manifestations.

However, decreasing the dose of hydrocodone and adding on any other pain medication which is less sedative may be considered after consulting a pain medicine specialist.
