Does Ibugesic Cause Weight Gain In A Child?

Hi, My 8 month old daughter got sick with viral fever. She was given Ibugesic to get her fever under control after 3 days of giving paracaetamol. She is fine now but in past 1 month she has not gained weight. Pediatrician said it is a side-effect of Ibugesic which has affected her weight gain. I doubt this. Please let me know if Ibugesic affects weight gain of the baby after she has recovered from fever and its been more than a month after her recovery. Regards, Annie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The fact that the child has not gain weight is more likely to be related to the viral infection. Ibugesic does not affect the weight gain as a side effect.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
