Does Ibuprofen Cause Elevated Blood Pressure?

Thank you, I am 85 years old, in excellent health - take no medical prescriptions, but I am testing for high blood pressure. I heard today that it is possible that ibuprofen may cause heart trouble. DO take one,sometimes 2 ibuprofen daily for my back. Sometimes I even take one just in case . I walk 6 days a week, never less than 3 miles, and sometimes I can feel my back muscles tighten up during my walks.Do you think my HBP may be being caused by the ibuprofen?

Hi ! I have gone through your question and I understand your concern .

Yes ibuprofen after taking for a long time may cause High blood pressure , and other condition such : Stomach pain even stomach ulcer , hemorrhage , may increase the risk of heart stack or stroke , kidney problems .
.But this does not rule out any other cause of hypertension in your age .

After the test for high blood pressure you shlulf check you blood cholesterol, kidneys and your doctor will start the medication for it and also will check the back .
Don't use ibuprofen of you can manage the pain without it .
