Does Keppra Affect The Brain Function And Leg Mobility?

Keppra, anti-seizure meds. taken for a long period of time, could this med. cause the brain ( cerebellum) to freeze and cause stutter steps instead of normal leg movements. Could toxins from this med. cause this situation to become a disconnect between the brain and mobility leg movements?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As side effects of Keppra include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness and sleepiness, it may lead to abnormal leg movements and slow reactions.

If these symptoms persist you should talk to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
