Does Keppra Cause Uncontrollable Anger?

My 26 year old daughter had been taking keppra since she was 17 for tonic clonic seizures. They are totally under control with the medication. She has 3 children. She was on topomax and keppra with first child and keppra only with the last 2. the second child is now 5 and showing uncontrolable anger issues ( not the usual spoilt kid type). Are there any studies on the effects of keppra in this situation. Just trying to rule out this posibility. The doctors they have seen aren t aware of any studies or documentation regarding this issue.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Keppra does not cause diabetes or high sugar level. It may be an undetected type-1 diabetes.

Consult a physician and start on OHA to make her blood sugar under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
