Does Ketoconazole Get Absorbed Into The Skin?

Yes, I am a medical massage practitioner and just learned a client uses the prescription Ketoconazole 2% and it is left in the client s hair. How does this topical usage affect me as I massage client s head? Will I absorb this in my skin? If so, what do I need to be aware of? Thank you.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I read your query and I understand your concern. Yes Ketoconazole cream is absorbed through the skin. You should be wearing latex gloves when you touch the patient, otherwise you would be taking medications you don't need.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

If helpful, vote yes.

Take care

Regards,
