Does Levothyroxine Interact With Ashwagandha Supplements?

I had a total thyroidectomy and have been taking levothyroxine 112 mcg daily for several years. I have regular labs drawn to make sure my levels are therapeutic. I am considering taking curcumin and ashwagandha supplements. Will they adversely interact with my levothyroxine?

Hi,

Yes, these supplements may interfere with Levothyroxine. To ensure adequate absorption from the intestines, Levothyroxine should always be taken in the morning on an empty stomach.

Its absorption may be decreased by other drugs, foods and food stuffs. So, these food stuffs should not be taken along with Levothyroxine. They may be taken after 3-4 hours later.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
