Does Lipitor Cause Dizziness, Nausea And Fatigue?

I m pretty sure it s my recently prescribed Lipitor that is making me feel AWFUL(dizzy, easily exhausted, nausea, all almost debilitating at times) DO I need to stop? My internist says I am at risk for stroke mostly and have genetic high plaque in my heart and arteries!

Hello,

Lipitor is commonly prescribed to reduce the high blood cholesterol levels to prevent heart disease and stroke. Its common side effects include stomach upset, myopathy (muscle pain, tenderness or weakness) and liver dysfunction. However, it is not known to cause dizziness.

If you have symptoms suggestive of myopathy or liver dysfunction, you should stop taking Lipitor and consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medication to reduce your high blood cholesterol.
