Does Lithium In The Long Run Cause Elevated Liver Enzyme Levels?

I have been on Lithium, along with Prozac and Klonpin for almost 30 years. Recently my blood work have come back with a high reading in my Liver and also my Kidneys. I just had a ultra-sound of my liver, with no results as yet. I am very concerned that this could be serious. Can long-time use of Lithium cause this? (I am bi-polar)

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear long term use of lithium least likely affect the liver and no studies showing that lithium causes the liver enzymes elevation.

Please check for any other drugs that affect your liver.
