Does Lorazepam Cause Twitching Sensation In The Body?

Hi my wife has taken Lorazepam 0.5 mg once a day for 2 weeks for anxiety. She cut the pill in half and took half of one in the morning and remaining half in the afternoon. She has taken the lorazepam before during flights and never had any of the side effects She now has muscle twitching throughout her body when relaxing and during sleep which keeps her awake and very frustrated. She has been on Dr. Google and read that one of the side effect of Lorazepam is muscle twitches. Taking small dosages for a short period of time could this happen? would the side effect be permanent? She has had only a small dosage (0.5 mg) for a short period. I keep assuring her that it is just lack of sleep and anxiety that is causing the twitches she has been off of lorazepam for 6 -7 month. What can be done to stop the muscle twitching, she has here mind set that it is the lorazepam.
