Does Losartan Have The Same Photosensitivity As Benazepril?

After tanning I developed hives which I determined to be caused by the BP meds I had started taking a few months earlier. I was on Benazepril hctz and after calling my dr she said I would be fine to change to Losartan instead. From what I m reading Losartan has the same photosensitivity that Benazepril hctz has?

Hello,

Photosensitivity reactions are observed in almost all ARBs as well as ACE inhibitors. Losartan also does produce (about 23% or so). But these are usually mild.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
