Does Losartan Potassium Help In Treating High BP?

Hello, I went to my GP last week and my BP was 210/103, which is extremely high. He put me on 100mg of losartan potassium. I just now took it with my own cuff and it s now 150/103. Have I been taking the meds long enough for them to work or should I look at other options. I also have sleep apnea, but no machine yet. What do I do? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should get even other medications except for losartan which is really helping. I think you can use a diuretic such hydroclorthyaside orally possibly in mornings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
