Does Matcha Tea Increase Blood Pressure Level?

I am presently take medication for high blood pressure Loteral5/10and just started water pill hydrochlorothiazid e12.5mg my good cholesterol is high but my HDL increased I was taking Matcha tea powder in hope of improving but can you advise will tea increase my pressure

Hello, Thanks for your query.
It appears you have fairly high blood pressure as there are three drugs being taken to control it. (Amlodepine, Benazepril and Hydrochlorthiazide). If BP is still not in control (expected level 120 to 130 / 70 to 80 mm Hg), means drug dosage is still not enough or there may be a need for additional drug.
I am sure you are aware of the lifestyle changes to adapted along with drug treatment to reduce BP. Namely : Regular exercise, avoiding salt (not more than 2.3 g/d), refraining from alcohol and smoking, avoiding oilly and deep fried foods.
Whether green tea has any role in either increasing or decreasing BP is a debatable point. A number of benefits are claimed, which are not really clinically substantiated. Thanks
