Does Methimazole 10 Mg Cause Weight Gain, Depression And Shortness Of Breath?

I am expericing episodes of shortness of breath. I am currently under care of doctor taking thyroid medicine. I have been taking methimazole 10 mg one tablet per day for 6 months now. I also take allopurinol for gout issues. I have little energy, weight gain and depression. I have also been sleeping 10-11 hours per nite... Does this sound normal with given medication?

Hello,

It can be due to hypothyroidism. You can for a thyroid function test assess the functional status of thyroid. If you are hypothyroid, the dose of methimazole must be reduced.
