Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father, 65 years old, had problems of loose-motion and vomiting 2 days ago. The doctor at the hospital administered Monocef and Metronidazole through I.V. Yesterday, we brought him home as he felt okay. The doctor had prescribed the below medicine to be used at home: O2 : 1-0-1 Nexpro RD 40mg : 1-0-1 Vibact : - 1 - Today morning, we couldn t get Nexpro at the medical shop nearby, so we gave only O2. Now he is continuously feeling like vomiting due to stickiness in his throat. Should we give him Nexpro RD 40mg now that we got it from the medical shop to reduce his trouble?
Try nexium in place of nexpro, and look in more medical stores if you couldn't find nexium in one particular store, or just ask for any brand with esomeprazole and the pharmacist should be able to help you.
What about vibact? You haven't mentioned that, it is a probiotic and is required with his current situation so make sure you give him all the medications prescribed.
Best wishes.
