Does Norethisterone Affect The Effect Of Contraceptive Pills?

Me n my fiance had this plan to have fun today. it actually was 29th day (as per my wrong calculations) of my cycle n I get my periods on 28th day itself. So inorder to not spoil our precious moment I planned to take norethisterone 5 mg to push my periods. it s now that I realized that I was very wrong and that it was just my 23rd day of cycle. I know 23rd day is still safe, but does things differ on taking norethisterone and we had unprotected intercourse? And I am absolutely sure that things went wrong

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is my pleasure to answer your query here. An intake of Norethisterone on 23rd day of menstrual cycle will effect further cycle rhythm if consumed for more than single doses, or at the most it will provoke withdrawal bleed after 4-5 days. But in general there is no threat of pregnancy in this case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
