Does Norethisterone Affect The Ovulation Date?

I started my period on 23rd December but took norethisterone on 24th because I didn t want spending Christmas on my period. My period has resumed today 28th December but am not sure if today should be my day 1 of my 24days cycle or was it still 23rd. Does this drug affect my ovulation date? I don t even know how to detect when am ovulating. I have been TTC for 8 months now with no luck. Please help a desperate soul. Thanks, Joy

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

The cycle has been disturbed now and its difficult to predict your date of ovulation. As for now you should be cautious for contraception and use some barrier till your next period. Norethistrone inhibits ovulation only when taken on a regular basis. Missing for two consecutive days makes it ineffective.

Take care
