Does Norethisterone Help In Stopping Periods?

Hi Dr, I took Norethisterone today as prescribed by my GP. However, few hours later, I started to bleed, hinting that my perios has started. Will continual dose of Norethisterone help to stop my period? I have a vacation coming in 5 days time and Im not sure if I should stop taking Norethisterone and allow my period to commence naturally or should I continue to eat those hormone pills. Please help!

Hi I think if you want to stop the bleeding, you may need a higher dose of progesterone after consulting your doctor. You need to continue the norethisterone at a lower dose after bleeding stops till you don't want periods. Hope it helps.
